Has anyone replaced or glued a new red plastic piece on their seat belt latch? Mine has finally worn through and I need to either replace or fix. Anyone epoxied a sheet of plastic on to the remaining surface and ground down to fit?

Wow, I've never even come close to even wearing off the "Press Here" never mind the entire red button!

Best bet would be to get some cheap ones from a junk yard, or something like this from eBay:

I suppose you could get some red plastic, form it, and then epoxy it on to the remnants of the other one, but don't get any glue anywhere other than under that cover and don't let any ooze out or the thing will glue shut!

Try to find belts from a car that's the same year as yours.
I have a big tub of belts in storage in the garage, from all sorts of different years of E30s, and there must be 4 or 5 different styles of latch mechanism.

Short and fat, long and skinny, medium squarish.

I can tell these are from an early, maybe 84/85 E30, based on the shape of the red button.
Later ones the red is surrounded by the black case.

The ones in this are from the rear seat of an '89, but you can see the difference in the red button style.
