Great blow by blow write-up, Enis.
And entertaining too!

It seems that you had more trouble than I did when I changed the front hubs on Julie's car a couple of years ago. But, I wasn't on the clock as you were. My biggest enemy, as you have discovered, is the heat and humidity of summer. Welcome to the east coast, my friend!

Julie returned today from Jackson Hole where she spent the last 10 days with her new grandson. While she was away, I spit-shined her car, and if I don't say so myself, it looks like a new car! All systems are fully functional, AC (rebuilt last year), locks (whop), and that wonderful interior light delay. Just one little electrical gremlin...need to find and clean the ground for the check sends a false signal for the rear lights, brake lights, and license plate lights. I replaced the bulb failure relay a year ago, but this was not the problem. And just recently, I replaced the check control unit itself, but this wasn't the problem either. So, must be a weak/bad ground. Bentley says the ground is on the driver's side under the rear seat...not there, or perhaps I am blind. I need to trace some wires, I guess.

The big surprise for Julie (today is our wedding anniversary) was that her car is back in the garage, after spending two years outside. You may remember that I bought an e36 vert two years ago, and I kicked the e30 out of the garage. Well, while I was working my butt off this past week in the heat and humidity, I noticed a lot of clear space around the two cars in the garage. Just today, I measured the width of the garage, and it is 27 feet, plenty of room for 3 cars. Can't get the vert out without backing either the e30 or Volvo out, but since the vert isn't driven much, this is no problem.

So, aside from the minor electrical problem which I will eventually correct, all 3 old cars in my family are in good shape!

Take care,
