This one's been driving me crazy. It was emanating from the rear passenger side. Thought it might be the speaker, removed the speaker cabinet completely. Didn't change a thing.

Then I had someone sit in the back while I drove, as that was the only time I heard it. Thought I pinpointed it at rear door.

struck out there too.

Then. after fixing the trunk tool kit (which the shop thought it might be the source of the rattle) I decided to replace the rear shock mounts, and bought the parts. When i started to remove the passenger side shock mount I noticed the little cup on the top of the shock mount was loose. Tightened it and VOILA!!!!! No more rattle.

sweet silence can be so beautiful yet so hard to achieve.

Cool

few things are as good as a tight car.

in my cabrio, the rear speaker side covers have internal spring clips...a few of them were bent and not springy any longer..after pulling them, the only rattle i had went away.

but cabrios do have a lot of internal noise from the wind/ seals...its best w/the top down, but still tight.

my red car has a slight exhaust rattle due to only 1 hanger....but thatll change soon...

good for you for tracking it down..its just a matter of elimination that takes methodical counts and a bit of frustrating time.

congratulations.

Nice work! Nothing feels better than fixing a good rattle. They can be a pain in the arse to figure out!
