I believe that some have migrated to other forums, because of inactivity on this one.

I had a 1997 BMW 528i (E39) for seven years. Eventually it was sold. It was very touble free. It was absolutely the best car I have ever owned. It was luxurious, quiet and smooth at any speed. I don't think I ever had to post any problem on this forum. If that were the situation with other owners, no wonder this has been a very quiet forum.

By the way, I drive on the German autobahn on my annual visit there. Typically I rent a BMW, 5 series and 3 series. This May I was there again and unfortunately, the rental location didn't have a BMW available so I got an Audi A6 Quadro turbo diesel. I was quite disappointed. Compared with BMW's, it rode much harsher. It didn't soak up the road surface irregularities like BMW's. At high autobahn speeds (upward of 130 mph) it was not stable like a BMW. Once again, it proves BMW is the ultimate driver's car. At high speeds, it provides a lot of confidence few other cars can.
