I have a 99 M3 with 154k miles. Am I asking for trouble if I install a 7 psi supercharger kit? I am looking at a kit from Active Autowerke. Is it worth the investment, its $4400? Will I be destroying my motor/drivetrain? I purchased the car with 140k miles so the past maintenance is unknown, however, the seller told me it was well cared for. Any thoughts?

You're on your own. Any engine with that mileage is suspect, especially with no service history, not to mention an M3.

If you REALLY want to do this, rebuild the engine before you put the blower on it. Put in lower compression pistons, too.

OTOH, you can install the blower, as is, and wait for the engine to grenade.

1. Check out the compression, the oil consumption, fuel injectors, radiator & hoses and go for it!
2. Just remember to re-programm your ECU for the new set up (A.F.M.)
3. You will have to use a bigger or even an extra fuel pump.
4. Do not go over 7 psi of boost.
5. After testing your car with a supercharger kit you will be.. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy happy!
