hey all,

looking to buy a 1992 M5 that has about 192k miles on it right now for $4k

was just wondering where to draw the line with mileage?

what should i be expecting to replace? would you do it?

You'll need to overhaul the engine at some point soon if you keep it very long. Save your pennies for that: you're looking at $15-20K.

Note that there are very few indies who have M5 experience. This car could be a money sink. If you're falling in love with it, be aware it will cost as much as, or more than, a mistress.

And, finally, remember that this car is a bastard, and unique parts will be 2-3X more expensive than standard E34 parts.

with the above post (all too true) it IS a friggin super car too.

when its up to spec, it will astonish you, and even surpass all other (even new 2008) models (and decimate all other brands (honda/acura/lexus/etc)))
