Well, I goofed. I got in such a hurry to get the sheetrock started, I forgot to get the construction insulation inspection, and electrical pre-cover inspections done before installing the sheetrock.

Today, 9/20/06, I just successfully completed the insulation inspection. I was able to show the inspectors enough pictures and through access panels that I had enough insulation to satisfy him.

Boy, the house is a lot warmer now that all of the basement is insulated!
When the house was built in 1930, they didn't insulate the basement.

Monday, 9/25/06, when we get back from a trip, I'll get the electrical inspection done, I'm hoping that goes as well.
If not, I'll have to hack some access holes in the sheetrock for the inspector, to show him the work. Then patch and repair the sheetrock.

If I pass, we'll move on to painting and getting the sheetrock installed in the hallway.
Get the trim done on the hallway sheetrock, primered and painted

Then do the electrical trim-out, and paint or epoxy the floor.

Install some door hardware and stair railings, and we're done!

If all goes well, by 09/30/06 we should be finished in the basement.
