Today I made a big mistake or 3 in the Pacific Raceways race. The end result is I rolled the car. Physically I'm fine, some sore muscles, got the car shutdown asap, little shaken up.

Moderate speed off in Turn 2 into the tires, the tires are what flipped me, if I could have slid further, there would have been no damage.

Every body panel is bent slightly, but I believe the frame is straight.
The doors, hood, trunk all open and close just fine. The engine and suspension appear to be fine, so just take a lot of bondo, slap it on, get a Maaco paint job, and I'm back racing again!

I'll try to post some pictures Monday.

Hit the tire wall with this side:

Ended up laying on this side:

Stack of tires prevented a complete roll over, but dented the heck out of the top:

Ouch, very sorry to see that. Soft grass when you went off? What did the tires catch on?

Glad you're ok and not more extensive damage.

Edit - just looked closer at that second to last pic and reread, you hit a tire wall?

Last race of the season, lovely car. Augh!

Dale appears to be OK, though. Not a nice feeling to get a radio of a rollover and notice who isn't in the string of cars passing behind the pace car.

Pics in the 5th post down. I'm amazed at how well the E30 held together.

WOW bro

This is your first roll over right? GLAD to see the pic of you standing behind the car on Rod's link.

Take it EASY but don't stop winning or having fun!

Hey Cher: I won the season championship, so I did plenty of winning this year. And I had plenty of fun to boot. No complaints here even if I ended the season with a banged up car.

Nothing is broken mechanically that I've found yet. After the tow back to the pits, I drove the car around and it felt OK. Drove it up onto the trailer to bring it home.

By sheer luck, my friend was 4 cars back, and had his video camera running. We got video of the off and I now have it online:

Wow, lost into the glare and dustball... got a nice winter project coming up I suppose. Congrats on the season standings.

Glad to hear you're okay.

Did the roll cage take any of the impact on the roof?

The roof is just touching the cage in the center, the most dented portion.
I'm hopeful this won't be too hard to repair, we'll see.

Bodywork has commenced. Fenders and door are off, new ones are on the shelf.
For now I'm just going to paint the new fenders and doors and bang out the rest of the dents.
Re-weld the sunroof, and go racing!

See some work done so far, hint, the newer pics are taken in the garage:
