I replaced the original BMW radio with a new Kenwood CD player. The new stereo wouldn't work with the factory speaker wiring because BMW used a common ground for the speakers. I had to by-pass the factory amplifier and run the four speaker outputs directly to the speaker wires after the amp. Now only the tweeters and one of the front 4x6 kick panel speakers work. Did I mess up the wiring? Do I need to install a new amp that will work with the new stereo? Has anyone else had problems replacing the stereo in one of these cars with the factory sound system?
