Hello everyone,

I'm looking for an expert advice about M60 engines on E34. On my '94 530i the engine sensibly vibrates from 1100 through 2100 rpm even at standstill. I know that certain amount of "rock" on V8 is okay, but this sounds and feels too much. I don't want to think it's the Nikasil short block.

Maybe, if you had experience with M60 V8, you can share your knowledge. Appreciate.

My '94 530i was repaired in '96 at 33K miles with... another Nikasil block. My mechanic suspects that when the change occured, the engine was slightly tilted on the mounting points, hence, vibration from 1.1 to 2.1 rpms. He suggested to replace the engine mounts. I'm the 3rd owner with 95.5K miles on the car. I'd rather go to a dealer--who knows, maybe, I'll be lucky. Do you think I have a chance at BMW dealer with these requisites?
