How will you get it smogged without a cat?

In my experience, for a street car with no extensive modifications, it's a waste of money to install a performance exhaust system, especially on a BMW. On the two models I've owned (E 12 528i and E39 540i), I've not been able to tell that the engine is gasping for breath.

If you wish to make noise and have a distinctive look, by all means, go for it.
