Does anyone know where I could find a service manual for my 2000 M Roadster?!? I've been searching a while and no luck. Asked the dealership and they said there's no such thing, but the service techs have to use something don't they?!? My warranty runs out in July and I need a service manual. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The dealers have CD-ROMs for info. Don't know how many CD-ROMs there are, but they don't even use microfiche anymore.

The CD-ROMs are typically not available to the general public.

You may also want to check in with Brett Anderson, at http://www.koalamotorsport.com/. Ask him what is available.

BTW, it appears that BMWNA would rather have you get the car serviced at a dealer, rather than doing it yourself. That's probably why they do not release service info.

This is a depressing state of affairs, since much maintenance can still be done by adroit shade-tree mechanics. Because of computer control of engines, there is no need for old-fashioned "tune-ups", other than changing the spark plugs at 60-100K miles.

Changing belts and hoses, as well as oil and antifreeze, is a no-brainer.

I guess most BMW buyers (and leasers) prefer not to get their hands and fingernails dirty!
