Subject: <MISC> changing brake pads/ rotors ?
I understand that:
I've heard that when changing from organic (soft) pads to metallic (hard) pads that you should also change to new rotors. Something about getting them to bed in/ wear properly.
All you guys who run different pads on the track and on the street - do you also have multiple sets of rotors that match to different kinds of pads ? Or do you just swap pads back and forth and don't worry about the rotors until they warp or get really scored ?
thanks

Run your rotors 'till they're warped or horribly grooved, and change your street pads and race pads whenever the occation calls for it. I have finally quit worrying about rotors. Just make sure you use the right pad for the right forum, and if you are using a race type pad, BE SURE TO WARM THEM UP BEFORE JAMMING ON THE BRAKES.
I may be way off base, but all this "seating your pads to the rotors, and matching the rotors to the pads" business is, in my opinion, silly.
