Could you elaborate a little more regarding why you think there is just a little improvement from a throttle body?
At the Monterey Historics, I talked to the Dinan rep that was hanging around the 850 Turbo and Chuck's Supercharged M3. I was talking to him about "bang for the buck" mods and he thought the throttle body was maybe the 2nd or 3rd thing you should do (if you're looking for HP gain that is).
Are all throttle bodies created equal?

Dear Bob and all,
the idea is to increase air flow. While boring out the throttle body will do this, the throttle body is not the "weak link" in the air intake system. The weak link is the HFM. Since the thread was "how to improve HP *cheaply*, we were talking about priorities. I have done my throttle body, because I don't want ANY unnecessary air flow restrictions. If you want the whole kahuna, do get your throttle body enlarged (but don't go too far. too thin and you will ruin the copper water jacket inside the walls of the TB. Jim C doesn't think that the water jacket is *totally* necessary, so he had his TB bored out to paper thin, and did away with the water jacket. I don't recommend doing that for various reasons)
I got my throttle body thru Anthony at BMP, who as everyone now knows, is my first choice for BMW parts. There are, of course, other suppliers who do a reputable job. Make sure your supplier knows the pitfalls of improperly bored out throttle bodies, so that you get one that has been precisely machined. Anthony knows.
I say, mortgage the house and do the "whole grocery list of mods." Especially the Headers, etc. Driving a car that *sounds* as bad as it is is big fun.

shoulder is feeling better. thank you for all the kind wishes
