Back in December '96, John Firestone in Bremerhaven, Germany found the part numbers for the BMW extinguishers and mounting parts in the 1996/97 BMW AG "Zubehoer" (Accessories) Catalog. Bekkers Import (1-800-624-5410) may be able to help with the nonlisted numbers. You have probably seen their ads in the BMW CCA Roundel. In this months Roundel ad they are asking $74.00 for the 1.0kg unit and $27.00 for the E36 brackets.

Some of these part numbers are not listed in the BMW 10/97 retail price book (part # 88 88 7 000 776, $30.00 retail) which confuses some dealers. Items I have purchased are marked with asterisks.

The fire extinguisher brackets mount at and under the front of either front seat. The E30 bracket came with no instructions, however, the installation is straight forward. All the necessary hardware is supplied, there are no holes to drill and, contrary to the detailed instructions that come with the E36 bracket, there is no need to remove the seat. Just carefully tip it back.

The BMW fire extinguisher appears to be a relabeled 1 kg Gloria P1G unit. It comes with detailed instructions and bolts directly to the mounting bracket with two supplied bolts. By drilling one hole I was also able to fit an Amerex Halon extinguisher, that I had, onto the 325es mounting bracket.
