The Disco takes a 235/70/16
I priced the Michelin XPCs at around $140 each.
I found the Pirelli Scorpion A/T(??or was it S/T)s for $130 each,
and they looked like a quieter tire. Anyway I bought the Pirelli's
and have been very happy with them on the road. I'll be on snow
with them tomorrow, so we'll see how they like that.

I had mine replace with Cooper Discoverer LT 225/75-R16 tires last month ($75 each with balancing and installation). I looked at the Michelin XPCs ($130 retail, $225 dealer), BFG Radial A-T T/A ($115) and even the Dunlop Rover RVs ($100, one week wait). The Coopers were cheaper, very aggressive thread and available. A wee bit noisy on tarmac, but I guess that's the consequence of the deeper threads. I'm very happy so far. Compared to the 205 stocks, it raised the truck a nice inch or so.
I breathed a sigh of relief that I didn't succumb to the temptation of getting even bigger tires, as I finally placed the new spare tire in the compartment. It barely fit! It's very snug (a bit tightly) against the rear seat belt attachment. A bigger tire would mean finding another place for the spare! Just a hind-sight observation. Good luck!

The Official replacement for the 244 xms 205 R16 is the 4x4 xpc 205 80 R16. It is really a very good tire on road and in packed snow ice. Very sticky on rocks. lots of sipes. Better than old tire (quieter smoother, stronger, better stoping distance) except in mud, where most report that is sucks. The XPC is not too hard to find. Several tire places in Nashville had it in stock. NTW (now NTB) took a week or so to get mine, but had the best price.
The tried and true alternate size is the 225 75 R16. This is commonly held to be safe and probably the biggest size a stock rr will safely take, although some have gone larger.
