Discovery Rear Bumper

I have found a friend who works in steel to build rear bumpers for the Discovery. He is finishing mine and will be making others. It is made of 1/4 inch steel, basicly in the shape of the current bumper. The rear endcaps are of steel, not plastic and wrap around the rear quarter panels about 1/2 the way to the wheel well. The plastic piece that hides the gap between the bumper and body is replaced with steel as well. The bumper bolts on in place. The catch is if you have the old style turn signals in the bumper, you need to get tail light assembley replacements that have the turn signal in the fender mounted lights. Under $100.00 and cheaper than building them into the bumper. Also leaves the bumper stronger. It is strong enough to jack from and with stands impact and sliding off of rocks. It will be painted black, not powder coated, easily touched up when the paint gets scratched off. It has two D rings for recovery, attached to the rear. The price is $900.00, plus shipping and 5% sales tax. If you're interested, please email me direct. I'm doing this for him as he does not have the internet yet. We have made quick disconnects for the sway bars, which he will be starting on next and a skid plate for the rear area gas tank as well. Those are to be built yet, but when available I'll post them.

When photos are finished I'll be glad to email them to anybody who requests them, rather than post them here.

Ok here it is. I'll send one photo so you don't have to down load forever. If you want more email and I sent the others. It looks like the price will be $850.00 plus shipping. 5% tax on Arizona residents. If you do not like it, money back. The lights are from my Discovery, in the end caps. You will need to supply your lights from your own end caps. In other words, put your's in when you get the bumper. It will come pre-cut so they just screw in with clips. The others will be neater on the welds and finished nicer. This was the proto-type. He is starting to build the second one. He will also build a rear skid plate for the gas tank. That and the quick disconnect pins for the sway bars. I'll keep you posted.
