SOLD
This car has been a race car most of its life. Originally built by TC
Kline for Dave McNeil as a SCCA National Showroom Stock A racer it was
later sold to Scott Hughes and daughter Patty Hughes. Many people know
Scott as the man in charge of the BMW CCA Club Racing program. Scott and
Patty campaigned the car extensively in BMW CCA Club Racing K Prep and SCCA
ITS. I bought the car in December 99 and raced it in ICSCC ITS and DP where
it earned a 2000 DP Championship and Fourth overall (missing third by one
point) in a very large and competitive ITS grid. Additionally, the car
proved its competitiveness and durability further by finishing fourth in
class and eleventh overall in the 58 car Cascade enduro at Portland
International Raceway in October 2000.
Car Prep
The car came equipped with a welded in TC Kline roll cage, Koni adjustable shocks, Eibach springs and sway bars, Recaro Seat, Momo steering wheel, BMW Motorsport strut tower brace. Since it has been in my hands it has seen the addition of a Fuel Cell, very effective brake ducting, a lightened flywheel, extensive sub frame reinforcement (done as SCCA legal repairs), K-mac Camber plates, titanium valve retainers, Korman 3:45 LSD racing differential, UUC competition short shifter, Jim Conforti Cold Air Induction and chip, lightweight straight through exhaust, the removal of the catalytic converter and related hardware, a manual steering rack, Goodridge SS brake lines, a completely rebuilt braking system, and a severe weight loss program. The car has been maintained in top mechanical condition. Records are available. The car was being prepped for ICSCC CP, but could easily be returned to ITS spec. It is turn key, very fast, and needs nothing to be competitive.
